I have been working with wood ever since my parents gave me a hammer and nails when I was only a couple years old. Soon after that, they gave me my first board, correction, an old drawer (sorry mom),  to pound the nails in; they were tired of me pounding nails in the floor. I am not a professional woodworker, just someone who has some tools in the garage and a little ambition to create.

Woodworking is a great stress reliever (unless you tend to make a lot of mistakes).  Watching shows like the New Yankee Workshop or The American Woodshop frustrate most woodworkers.  I love to watch both shows but I wish they would show some mistakes.  I have often heard that the only difference between a professional and amateur woodworker is that the professional covers up their mistakes better.  I think both shows should have an episode where they show their audience how they have fixed their mistakes.
